The truck body has a freight platform covered by a tarpaulin, which is folded similar to a sliding door. The tarpaulin (37) has guide elements, at least one of which is moved together with it from a position in opening direction (90), into a free space (91) in closing direction (85), next to a rigid slider part (35,36) fastened to the tarpaulin. Front guide elements of tarpaulin and slider part are guide in separate horizontal rails (60,61) next to each other.
