Sensor system comprising a chamber (9) having an inlet and an outlet; a substrate (6) on which algae is grown, oxygen sensors (4, 11), pH sensors (3, 13), and optionally temperature sensors (15), is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device comprising one or more sensor systems having a supply and control unit (7) connected to a unit for supplying current and processing signals; and (2) producing a substrate for a sensor system.
