The sequence of part of intron (42), the complete sequence of exon (42) and part of intron (43) of the canine von Willebrand's Factor cDNA and deduced amino acid sequence is provided. Also provided are part of intron (6), the complete sequence of exon (7) and part of intron (7). The mutation which causes von Willebrand's Disease in Doberman pinschers, Shetland sheepdogs, Manchester terriers and Poodles are also provided. Methods for diagnosing a canine as clear, carrier or affected for von Willebrand's disease are provided. |
