PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interior lighting system for a vehicle capable of reducing the power consumption, elongating the service life, and improving the reliability in wiring by reducing the man-hours for assembling. SOLUTION: This interior lighting system is composed of a female connector 12 connected to a terminal of a wire harness 11 connected to an electric circuit at a car body side, a light emitting element loaded substrate 14 loading a light emitting diode 13, a male connector 15 fixed on the base, and a light emitting element case 16 fixed on the light emitting element loaded substrate 14 to cover the light emitting diode 13. The light emitting element case 16 has a light emitting window 21 for outwardly passing the light emitted from the light emitting diode 13. The light emitting diode 13 is driven by connecting the female connector 12 with the male connector 15. By applying this constitution, the power consumption of a light source can be reduced, the service life of the power source can be elongated, and the reliability in wiring can be improved by reducing the man-hours for assembling.
