PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material enhanced in stiffness strength and excellent in impact resistance by forming a sandwich structure from resin layers and to provide gas barrier laminate excellent in shading properties, friendly to environment and excellent in gas barrier properties by applying metal vapor deposition to at least the single surface of an intermediate layer constituting the sandwich structure. SOLUTION: The gas barrier laminate excellent in stiffness strength, impact resistance and shading properties, which comprises three or more resin layers wherein the intermediate layer having metal vapor deposition applied to at least the single surface thereof is used, has the sandwich structure wherein three or more adjacent layers consist of the single-layered or laminated intermediate layer and two surface material layers holding the intermediate layer and the elastic modulus of the resins same or different in kind used in the surface material layers holding the intermediate layer is larger than that of the resin used in the intermediate layer.
