PURPOSE: A method for gathering data in a communication system is provided to gathering transmission power data for monitoring a transmission power transmitted by each path according to an assignment frequency and a sector. CONSTITUTION: A transmission power value in a message received from an ith channel card is stored in a channel transmission power DB(S14). An FA(Frequency Assignment) number and a sector ID are extracted using a channel card number and a modem path number(S15). Values with reference to an FA, a DB management according to a sector, and a transmission power value are accumulated in the transmission power DB for performing the gathering(S16). The modem path number is increased by 1 for processing a modem path(S17). It is judged whether the modem path number is less than a look-up index(S18). If the modem path number is not less than the look-up index, it is judged whether the transmission power value is received from all channel cards(S19). If the transmission power value is received from the all channel cards, a transmission power message formatted as the transmission power value is transmitted to a BCP(Base Station Processor)(S20).
