PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier tape which permits no burrs to adhere to a terminal at a bottom of an electronic component stored in a recess of the carrier tape and which causes no contact failure even in the case where the electronic component is mounted on the surface of a substrate. SOLUTION: The carrier tape 1 has many recesses 2 which are provided in a row in the longitudinal direction of the carrier tape 1 for individually storing electronic components or the like. Each recess is provided with a check hole 4 bored in at least one of its side faces which are positioned in the width direction of the carrier tape.
