PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the appearance of a cowl for a steering column, and to provide a sufficient tilt telescopic fastening force. SOLUTION: A substantially central part of paired toggle members 14a, 14b is pressed axis-directionally by a cam lock mechanism in tilt telescopic fastening, and the paired toggle members 14a, 14b are stretched thereby to press a column side bracket 8 while contacting slidingly with a body side bracket 5. An operation lever 18 is moved axis-directionally thereby together with the steering column 4 and the cowl in telescopic adjustment, so as to make small a recess for the operation lever 18 formed in the cowl. |
