PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding machine allowing prevention of intrusion of coolant into the inside of a structure member such as spindle unit of a grinding means without requiring manufacturing of the structure member in a specific waterproof structure. SOLUTION: This grinding machine has, on a table 1, a work mounting means 3, the grinding means 4 for grinding a work W mounted on the mounting means 3, a coolant injecting means 5, and an opening/closing hood 6. The grinding machine includes an air suction means 24 for sucking air inside the hood 6 in a closing state of the hood 6 so as to make the inside of the hood 6 have negative pressure, and an air hose 17 that opens to the atmosphere on its one end side, is inserted into desired structure members 12, 14a, 16 of the structure member on the other end side, and, when the inside of the hood 6 has negative pressure, sucks external air to make the insides of the structure members be in a pressurized state.
