PURPOSE: A receiver for a mobile communication system is provided to decrease a reaction time of a receiving system by converting a baseband signal into a digital signal and operating an automatic gain control(AGC) circuit in a baseband. CONSTITUTION: A front terminating unit(201) receives an RF(Radio Frequency) signal and processes the received RF signal. The first gain adjusting unit(202) adjusts an entire cell radius. A frequency converting unit(203) converts the adjusted signal into a baseband signal. The second gain adjusting unit(204) maintains the baseband signal as a uniform level irrespective of an input. A control circuit unit provides an attenuation control signal for adjusting the cell radius.
