PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for constructing a knotted improved columnar body in the ground without needing the process of works for the vertical motion of an agitating machine for ground improvement. SOLUTION: The agitating machine 100 for ground improvement is composed of a rotating shaft 10, a drilling head 11, a pair of drilling agitating blades 12, a pair of agitating blades 13, and a group 150 of enlarged blades. The drilling head 11 whose end portion has excavating tips 110 is mounted in such a manner as not to block up a discharge opening 10a on the end portion of the rotating shaft 10. The blades 12 the one edge side of which has excavating tips 120 are mounted near the tip of the rotating shaft 10 in such a manner as to facing each other in order to be tilted at a fixed angle relative to a horizontal surface. The blades 13 are mounted on the rotating shaft 10 above the blades 12 in such a manner as to facing each other in order to be tilted at the fixed angle relative to the horizontal surface. The group 150 is mounted on the rotating shaft 10 between the blades 12, 13.
