PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping structure capable of reducing the transfer of out of plane force to a shear damper such as plate-like damper or the like for reducing vibration by earthquake or the like of building structure, etc. SOLUTION: The damping structure 10 is so constituted that the plate-like damper 14 is placed to an in-plane of the building structure forming the plane of columns 12a and 12b and beams 11a and 11b, the plate-like damper 14 for reducing the vibration in the in-plane of the building structure is included and that the plate-like damper 14 and columns 12a and 12b or beams 11a and 11b are connected to each other through a joint means 13, and a transfer reducing means 15 for reducing the out of plane force transferred through the building structure is provided to the joint means 13.
