OPTICAL BRANCHING FILTER AND WAVELENGTH CONVERTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a multiple wavelength batch converting device by branching a wavelength multiple signal light and also by branching a wavelength multiple pump signal. SOLUTION: This optical branching filter inputs a wavelength multiple light and branches the wavelength multiple light with the slab waveguide of an input side and propagates the branched wavelength multiple lights to array waveguides having different lengths and, thereafter, branches the wavelength multiple light to plural waveguides by coupling the branched wavelength multiple lights with a slab waveguide for output and the optical branching filter has a waveguide for signal light input for inputting the wavelength multiple light, a slab waveguide for signal light input and an array waveguides for signal lights and has a waveguide for pump light input for inputting a wavelength multiple pump light, a slab waveguide or pump light input and array waveguides for pump lights and the optical branching filter is constituted by allowing the slab waveguide for output to be connected to outputs of both of the array waveguides for signal light and the array waveguides for pump lights.
