<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission method by which a receiver having no copy function can utilize contents even when the copyright is protected. SOLUTION: An authentication processing circuit 151 of a transmitter 10 stores a model name of a receiver having no function of copy processing of contents. When the circuit 151 stores the model name obtained from the connected receiver 40, a signal selection circuit 122 selects a position of a terminal (a) regardless of whether or not the copyright of the contents is protected, closes a switch 123 and the transmitter transmits signal which is not ciphered. While the signal of the contents whose copyright is protected is transmitted without copyright protection processing, a hot plug detection function or a plug and play function of a processing circuit 152 detects that the receiver 40 is changed, the selection circuit 122 selects a position of a terminal (b) or opens the switch 123 to stop the transmission of the signal whose copyright protection is not processed. The circuit 151 stores the information denoting the receiver without being falsified in a way that the information can be updated.</p> |
