PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal complex pigment showing a high molar absorption coefficient and having a superior light absorption ability also in a long wavelength region, a photoelectric conversion element using semiconductor particles sensitized by such metal complex pigment, and a photocell using the it. SOLUTION: This is a photoelectric conversion element containing semiconductor particles sensitized by a metal complex pigment expressed by the formula: M(LL1)m1(LL2)m2(X)m3.CI (M represents a metal atom, LL1 represents a specific ligand of a nitrogen atom possible to be monodentate, bidentate or tridentate ligand in the metal atom, LL2 represents other ligand possible to be bidentate or tridentate ligand with nitrogen atom, X represents ligand of monodentate or bidentate ligand with isothiocyanate group or the like, m1 represents an integer of 1 to 3, and when m1 is not less than 2, LL2 may be the same or different, m2 represents an integer of 0 to 2, and when m2 is 2, LL2 may be the same or different, m3 represents an integer of 0 to 2, and when m3 is 2, X may be the same or different and X may be mutually coupled, CI represents a counter ion when the counter ion is necessary to neutralize the electric charge). |
