THROATING STRUCTURE OF LOWER PART OF SASH WINDOW

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a throating structure of the lower part of a sash window which prevents rainwater or the like from flowing down from the end part in the longitudinal direction of a throating member and can also facilitate filling of a vertical calking compound between a vertical frame and the outer wall of a building. SOLUTION: The throating member 20 is prepared by fitting a cap 30 to the end part of a throating main body 21 and the member 20 thus prepared is fitted to the lower part of a bottom frame 13 forming a sash window 12, so that a lateral rise part 40 of the cap 30 overlaps the outer surface 16a of the vertical frame 16. Thereby the part between a projecting portion 13a of the bottom frame 13 and the throating main body 21 is so closed up by the lateral rise part 40 as to prevent rainwater or the like from flowing down from the end part in the longitudinal direction of the throating member 20. The lateral rise part 40 functions as a calking compound support when the vertical calking compound 52 is filled between the outer surface 16a of the vertical frame 16 and the outer wall 52 of the building, and therefore the filling is easy to perform.
