PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety in an emergency travel condition in a motor vehicle provided with a transmission controlled by an electronic transmission unit, and an internal combustion engine controlled by electronic engine unit, constituting the transmission unit to shift a selected gear by driving an actuator in the transmission, depending on the setting of a gear selecting switch in a normal condition, and further providing a transmission connecting part between the transmission unit and the engine unit. SOLUTION: Acceleration is limited by the engine unit in such an emergency detectable through the transmission connecting part that the setting of the gear selecting switch cannot be recognized by the transmission unit and/or that the selected gear cannot be shifted by the transmission.
