PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having enhanced mechanical characteristics such as surface lubricity, wear and scuffing resistances without adversely affecting electrical characteristics and suitable to be used for a high-speed copying machine, a power saving coping machine or printer or the like. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor with at least a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate, the photosensitive layer contains an electric charge generating material, an electric charge transferring material, a polyester resin, a polycarbonate resin having an alkoxycarbonyl group in each constituent unit and a >=20C wax obtained by the ester linkage of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol.
