A retroreflecting sheet having at least a reflecting element layer composed of multiple reflecting elements and a holder layer and a surface protective lay er provided over the reflecting element layer, wherein a printed layer is provided on the reflecting surfaces of the reflecting elements, or between t he holder layer and the surface protective layer, or on the surface protective layer and has a printed area where a repetitive pattern of printed pattern units the area of each of which is 0.15-30 mm2 is formed discontinuously.
