PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the short side panel of a folding container assembled in a box shape from falling inside when the container is held by both hands and also to make the container compact when it is folded. SOLUTION: A rectangular bottom panel 1 is provided with a long side panel 2 mounted freely rotatively on each facing long side and with a short side panel 3 mounted freely rotatively on each opposite short side. In assembling this folding container in a box shape, the pair of short side panels 3 in a pushed down condition are folded on the pair of long side panels 2 in a pushed down condition, and after the panels 3 are erected, the panels 2 are erected. In a standing condition, both inside ends of the panels 3 are supported by both end faces of the opposite panels 2. A supporting protrusion 4 is provided partially on both inside ends 3a of the panels 3. In a condition that the panels 3 forming a pair are pushed down, the protrusion 4 is fitted in a recess 20 provided at both long side ends of the panel 1.
