PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for treating an exhaust gas. SOLUTION: The method for treating the exhaust gas containing harmful organic substances volatilized from waste materials by heating the waste materials and comprises a process for removing a solid content contained in the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas using a bag filter. The solid content is removed by using a catalyst bag filter having a catalyst as the bag filter, and at the same time, the harmful organic substances contained in the exhaust gas are made harmless by the catalyst.
