PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aromatic polyamide film capable of being stretched in a high stretch ratio, high in productivity and having a high grade. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the aromatic polyamide film by stretching a polymer sheet comprising aromatic polyamide containing a solvent in a longitudinal direction thereof, the Young's modulus of the polymer sheet before stretching is set to 0.05-5 GPa and the polymer sheet is heated to 70-250 deg.C at the time of stretching.
