PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod capable of well regulating the weight balance of the whole fishing rod. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is obtained by arranging and fixing a pipe material 12 coincident with the inside diameter of a butt rod 1 into the end on the side of the butt rod 1 of the butt rod 1, forming an expanding slot 1a in the butt rod 1 and the pipe material 12 from the end face on the side of the butt rod 1 in the longitudinal direction and forming groove parts 12a in the whole peripheral direction on the inner peripheral surface at a regular interval in the longitudinal direction in plural sites on the inner peripheral surface of the pipe material 12. A balancer 10 has a flange 11 exposed to the outside of the butt rod 1 while engaging a neck part thereof with the expanding slot groove 1a. The balancer 10 is freely movable in the longitudinal direction of the butt rod 1 along the expanding slot 1a by engaging the flange 11 with the expanding slot 1a.
