<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering/driving unit for a wheelchair that can be easily mounted on one of the right and left sides of the front part of a vehicle body of a common manual wheelchair, allows the wheelchair to be easily modified to a motorized type by its mounting, and allows arbitrary steering of the wheelchair, and provide a motorized wheelchair using the unit. SOLUTION: The steering/driving unit 1 is formed by fixing a mounting frame 7 having a wheel 4 or a wheel 5 forming one of right and left front wheels and a DC motor 6 for rotating it to the tip of a steering handle shaft 8 vertically and rotatably mounted on one of the right and left sides 2A and 2B of the front part of the vehicle body 2.</p> |
