PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which replacement of a roll sheet can be known without limiting the roll sheet being used and the roll sheet can be used effectively in response to a request from a shop. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a print mechanism (20) printable on a roll recording sheet, a residual quantity detector (12) of recording sheet, and a control means 50 having a function for controlling the print mechanism (20) to print residual quantity information of recording sheet based on a signal obtained from the residual quantity detector (12).
