PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure plate cylinder capable of easily and accurately forming a strip-like coating surface on a base material. SOLUTION: The gravure plate cylinder 12 comprises a plurality of cells 20 circumferentially extended in its outer periphery. The each cell 20 has a V-shaped section. A plurality of independently linear coating surfaces 25 are formed by filling magnetic ink 16 in the plurality of cells 20, and coating the base material W with the ink 16 by the cylinder 12. The surfaces 25 are smoothed and formed with a strip-like coating surface 26.
