PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shoes that prevent an ankle sprain of a handicapped person who has difficulty in moving his legs supporting his weight. SOLUTION: Ankle sprain preventing shoes in which an ankle sprain prevention member 5 as a thin hard plate of an L section having slight elasticity of made up of an ankle holding face 1 nearly of a shape covering the vicinity of the ankle, and a fastening face 4 of a length bending and crossing the reverse of the insole 2 of the shoe, the fastening face 4 is fixed to a cut 3 provided on the outside ankle side of the reverse of the insole 2 and arranged in the vicinity of the outside ankle. Fasteners 11 extending close to a foxing tape 10 are provided on both sides so that the instep portion 8 of the shoe and both side portions 9 of the instep may open and close, and a knob strip 13 is provided between the knobs 12 of both fasteners 11.
