PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene ether-based resin composition which has excellent flowability, excellent product appearance, excellent heat resistance and excellent flame retardancy and is useful for flame-retarded insulation sheets, and to provide the flame-retarded insulation sheet comprising the thermoplastic resin composition. SOLUTION: This polyphenylene ether-based resin composition for the flame- retarded insulation sheets, comprising the following components (A), (B) and (C), wherein the contents of the component (B) and the component (C) are 1 to 70 pts.wt. and 1 to 40 pts.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the component (A). The component (A): a polyphenylene ether-based resin, the component (B): a phosphate ester-based compound, and the component (C): a hydrogenated alkenyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene compound block copolymer in which the number-average mol.wt. of the block comprising the alkenyl aromatic compound is 12,000 to 50,000.
