PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which is superior in heat resistance, has a long life, and in which a highly efficient light emission is obtained, and provide an organic light emitting medium that is appropriately used for this EL element. SOLUTION: This is an organic electroluminescence element having a pair of electrodes and the organic light emitting medium layer that is pinched between these electrodes, wherein the organic light emitting medium layer is the organic electroluminesence element which contains (A) at least one kind of electron transporting compound and (B) anthracene derivative having a specific structure.
