PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-excitating converter which makes its dimension small, its cost low and its performance highly reliable. SOLUTION: A single phase bridge converter is constituted of four switching elements 1 of a flat pressure contact structure, each of which contains a self-arc- extinguishing element and a diode which is inversely parallel-connected with the self-arc-extinguishing element. Only a clamp type snubber circuit, which is composed of a snubber diode 2, a snubber capacitor 3 and a snubber resistor 4, is connected between the plus pole and the minus pole of the DC circuit. The four switching elements 1 consisting of the converter are connected in a pressure contact device 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. |
