PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device having a wide operating range in which display irregularity due to a change in temperature, the voltage fluctuation of power source, variation in mass production is compensated. SOLUTION: The data signal line driving circuit 3 of a picture display device 1 is constituted of respective video signal output blocks SDi and two detection signals MON1, MON2 are outputted from a video signal output block SDy as a dummy circuit in which a corresponding data signal line is not present. A delay amount detecting circuit 5a monitors the delay amount between the detection signals MON1, MON2. A phase adjusting circuit 5b optimally adjusts the output timing (phase difference) between a clock signal CKS and a data signal DAT by using compensation information obtained by referring to a compensation information table 5c based on this delay amount. After the compensation information is confirmed in the lighting inspection of the device 1, the information is written in the table 5c via a table writing part 5d.
