PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, as to a plasma display device, a method for reducing a manufacturing cost by applying a two-electrode structure and for making a positioning easier between a substrate of a front side and a substrate of a back side. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with the following components: one side substrate and the other side substrate arranged to be facing each other, a stripe-like first electrode arranged on the one side substrate, a stripe-like second electrode arranged on the first electrode in a direction crossing with the first electrode through an insulating layer, a first and a second protruding portions respectively ejected from the first and the second electrodes for generating a phase discharge in the bit area made around the crossed portion of the first and the second electrodes, a barrier wall made to be overlapping horizontally with either the first or the second electrode on the other substrate, and a phosphor layer prepared in a ditch between the barrier walls.
