METHOD FOR OPERATING PLURAL DATA TRANSFER TRANSACTIONS IN PARALLEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to process transfer of plural pieces of data in a disk array sub-system in parallel. SOLUTION: A controller including an initiator coupled with a target is indicated through a transaction bus and a data bus corresponding to it. The initiator receives a transaction request from an external logic, buffers a transaction and allocates an intrinsic identifier to the transaction. The intrinsic identifier is transferred to a proper target through the transaction bus. The target receives the intrinsic identifier, queues it until the transaction becomes possible to be processed and prompts the initiator to provide the buffered transaction through the data bus when the transaction can be processed. The initiator can process plural targets independently of one another by such separation of processings.
