PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MD player which prevents the lacking of beginning parts of speeches when reproducing by a program searching. SOLUTION: This MD player has a pickup circuit 16 and a control circuit 1. The control circuit 1 causes the pickup circuit 16 to execute the operation to reverse reproduce an acoustic signal from the position of a program searching address recorded at an MD 2 to the pickup circuit 16 in accordance with this program searching address by the marker operation of users to execute the operation to detect the position where the signal level of the acoustic signal coincides with the prescribed threshold, for example, -80 dB in the second time in the process that the acoustic signal is reverse reproduced. The position where the signal level of the acoustic signal coincides with the threshold in the second time is detected right before the position between the music to be rewritten with the program searching address and the music before the same and the address of the detecting position is overwritten and recorded as the fresh program searching address on the MD 2.
