PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processing method and a color image processing apparatus by which a natural image can be obtained without causing color slurring at the color adjustment. SOLUTION: A color adjustment quantity of a received pixel is obtained, the color adjustment quantity is added to color components of the received pixel for the execution of the color adjustment and a saturation state of the color components of the received pixel is detected. Then addition processing of the color adjustment quantity to the received pixel is controlled depending on the detected saturation state.
