PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of performing the stable tracking control also for the optical disk capable of recording a signal to both of the recessed and projected parts of the track. SOLUTION: The already recorded state of the signal on only one area out of two recording areas adjacent in the direction perpendicular to the track direction is discriminated by an offset discriminating means 55, and by impressing the offset voltage on an error signal E1 by an offset impressing circuit 56 based on a control signal L3 outputted in accordance with the discrimination result, the offset of a tracking error signal which is generated by the existence of recording pits on the adjacent recording tracks at the inner peripheral side or the outer peripheral side, is effected. The stable tracking control is thereby allowed. Also, since the present address of the already recorded area is arranged so as to store in a memory of already recorded address control, the already recorded state of the signal on only one area out of adjacent two recording areas is detectable by the simple constitution.
