The invention relates to a method for rotating preforms (V) about radial rotational axes (4) in a star-shaped feed device (E), from a suspended position into an inverse position. According to said method, the distance (a, b, c) between neighbouring rotational axes (4), viewed from the direction of rotation, is modified during the rotation of said feed device. A star-shaped feed device (E) for carrying out said method has an adjusting device which interacts with the holders, to modify the distance (a, b, c) viewed from the direction of rotation about the rotational axis, between neighbouring rotational axes (4).
