The invention relates to a system for supplying a consumer with electric power, comprising a fuel cell device and a fuel cell container for receiving feedable fuel. The invention is characterized by a disposal device which receives waste products arising from the operation of said fuel cell device. The invention also relates to a fuel cell device comprising at least one fuel cell unit with a plurality of anode devices and a plurality of cathode devices, whereby an anode device is associated with each cathode device. The inventive fuel cell device is characterized in that each fuel cell unit comprises a substantially planar electrolyte device, whereby each anode device and the corresponding cathode device are mounted on opposite sides of the electrolyte device.
