<p>The invention concerns the control of height H of liquid metal (2) in an injecting device (6) of a continuous casting machine. The method is characterised in that it consists in immersing a specific part P of a plunger into said liquid metal and moving the plunger in the liquid metal, so as to modify the volume of the immersed part of the plunger and cause a displacement of the liquid metal level, under the effect of hydrostatic pressure. The inventive device is characterised in that it comprises a plunger (30), means (41, 31, 32) for modifying the position of the plunger (30) and, optionally means (11, 12) for detecting the height H of the liquid metal (2). The invention enables to vary easily and accurately the height of the liquid metal.</p> |
