PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber packing body which prevents any natural ignition caused by the heat accumulation while storing a carbon fiber, stores the fiber in a safe condition, and is convenient for the use when it is used in a following step, and free from generation of any migration. SOLUTION: In this carbon fiber packing body, the carbon fibers having the composition consisting of, by weight, 65-85% carbon with the mean fiber length of 0.1-150 mm are sealed maintaining the filling density of 0.1-0.5 g/cm3 and the water content of 3-8%.
