PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small dispersion compensation optical fiber module which can be assembled for a short time. SOLUTION: A tray 15 with thickness smaller than the height from the case bottom surface 21b to the outlet for pigtail fiber 26 of a case side surface 21a is provided to a bottom surface 21b of a case 21 storing a reel 23 wound around a dispersion compensation optical fiber 22. The reel 23 is fixed on the case bottom surface through one flange part 11 of the reel 23 in the through hole of the tray 15. A welded part of a fiber terminal (winding beginning part 29, winding end part) extended from the reel 23 and the pigtail fiber 25 is provided on the tray 15.
