PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the application of a reflection type sensor of a low cost having a small permissible value of a detecting distance and to detect the presence or absence of a photosensitive material with good accuracy. SOLUTION: In the case a PS plate 12 is made different in transporting directions on the upstream side and downstream side of a transporting roller pair 42, the roller 42A on the upper side of the transporting roller pair 42 is provided with a groove part 102 and this groove part 102 is provided with the reflection type sensor 100 in order to minimize the displacement quantity from an approximate horizontal state by jumping even if there is jumping of the transporting roller pair 42 around the grasping point thereof in such a manner that the rear end of the PS plate 12 aligns to the transporting direction on the downstream side of the transporting roller pair 42 when the rear end is put into a free state by the rigidity of the PS plate 12 and therefore the rear end may be brought closer to the grasping point (fulcrum) of the transporting roller pair 42. As a result, the application of the reflection type sensor of the low cost having the permissible value of the detecting distance is made possible.
