PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent anodic coating for aluminum or an aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: In this method, very low temperature treatment is applied to a base materials made of aluminum or aluminum alloy before anodic treatment, to form an anodic coating having excellent corrosion resistance and other properties on the surface. The base material made of aluminum or aluminum alloy has an anodic coating which is formed by very low temperature treatment of aluminum or an aluminum alloy at first and successively to anodic treatment and which has 0.001-0.5 mm thickness and at least 5 hr corrosion proof time against an aqueous solution containing 5-8% HCl.
