PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of obtaining a high-quality image by restraining the unevenness of light quantity caused by the vignetting of an optical system. SOLUTION: The laser beam from a laser array 1 is imaged on a photoreceptor 6 by a projection optical system 10. The quantity of the laser beams transmitted through a half mirror 7 is detected by a photodetector 8 through a diaphragm for light quantity detection 5b provided at a position equivalent to the diaphragm for image formation 5a of the optical system 10.
