A milling-machine comprises a guide on a gear-box or an intermediate support slidable on the gear-box, and two spindle heads carried on the guides. A base 10, Fig. 2, supports a horizontally movable member 18, on which is mounted a vertically slidable gear-box 22. A distance-piece 26 horizontally slidable on box 22, carries a milling spindle 28, and a spindle head 30 is horizontally movable on distance-piece 26, and carries a swivelling drill head 32. The drive for drill spindle 34 is is from a gear 36, an elongated pinion 38, a gearwheel 42 on spindle 28, an elongated pinion 48 which drives a pinion shaft 50. A second gearwheel 44 on shaft 28 drives an attachable toolhead 46, Fig. 4, when tool head 30 is retracted. Pinion 48 may be placed in head 30, so that it is driven by gear 44. In a modification, Fig. 5, elongated pinion 64 is driven by gear 62, and drives shaft 68 through gears 66, and transmission 68. In a further modification, Fig. 6, three elongated pinions are provided. Stops are provided which are actuated by a pin on head 30 to limit the movements of the heads. |
