PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a failure caused by an operation of an intake side when mirror cycle is carried out, especially solve heat damage caused by returning intake air led into a cylinder once into an intake passage again. SOLUTION: An intake valve is closed after a normal intake process is carried out, a part of intake air is supplied to an exhaust system in a prescribed timing (θe2) before fuel is injected in a compression stroke. It is desirable that an exhaust valve is opened in the prescribed timing. An operation/disoperation according to an operating condition of temporarily opening valve of the exhaust valve is realized using together with an eccentric rocker arm, and an exhaust valve operating cam provided with a second cam nose for temporarily opening the valve, other than a cam nose for carrying out a normal exhaust operation.
