A lubricant container is located in the upper part of the escalator steps (5) within the balustrade base (2.1). A lubricating wick extends into the lubricant container at one end and is fastened at the other end to the base plate (3) in the region of the sliding pads (6), which are located at the sides of the escalator steps. The wick end projects through a bore in the base plate forming a lubrication point. The wick does not contact the edge of the steps but only contacts the sliding pads. |
