<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive liquid crystal display device, capable of performing gray scale display. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a potential V2 of the electrode 2a of the liquid crystal 2 can be switched in four steps by connecting both of the capacitors 18, 19, in parallel or connecting either of them or connecting notching at all across a pixel signal line 4 and the electrode 2a of the liquid crystal cell 2. Therefore, four-step gray scale display can be performed, without having to use a D-A converter circuit to reduce the price of the device.</p> |
