PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cost rising by moderating the stopping accuracy of a focusing motor in the case of performing focusing at a wide end. SOLUTION: At the time of variable power, 1st to 3rd lens groups 17 to 19 are extended together in an optical axis direction by driving an all-group moving motor 82. At a variable power position other than at the wide end, focusing is performed by moving the lens groups in the optical axis direction by driving a 2nd lens driving motor 28. At the wide end, focusing is performed by moving the 1st to the 3rd lens groups 17 to 19 together in the optical axis direction by driving the motor 82 without changing the distance of the 2nd lens group 18 from the other lens groups 17 and 19.
