METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CERAMIC COMPOSITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fine, thermally resistant ceramic composite material by forming a fine, thermally resistant ceramics in a molded article in situ. SOLUTION: The method consists of the following steps: (a) the molded article is formed from a reinforcing material and a nitride of a metal which constitutes a sialon ceramics. (b) the sialon ceramics is formed on site by permiating a melted glass containing an oxide of the metal into the article obtained from the (a) process.
